Currents Newsletter

Currents is a bi-monthly newsletter that is sent via email to all our 7000+ members. Use the next issue to get the word out about your upcoming events, classes, workshops, or other important announcements.

 

Submit your high resolution ad to be published in our electronic newsletter, Currents, which is emailed to our membership and posted on our website. Email your ad (in the proper dimensions) to ads@naswnyc.org making sure all text and images are present. Please see below for deadlines, rates and specs.

Online Classified Rates

NASW-NYC accepts advertisements for Office Space Available, Professional Development Opportunities , Social Work Related Products and Services, and Situations Wanted. Once receipt of advertisement has been acknowledged and approved, ad will be posted within 2-3 business days and listed for 60 days. Cost: 33 cents per character with a $78 minimum charge. Members receive a 15% discount! To submit an advertisement please email it to ads@naswnyc.org.

Membership Mailing List Rental

The New York City Chapter of NASW mailing list contains approximately 7000 names of members who live or work in the five boroughs of New York City. The list can be rented either  in its entirety, or broken down into individual boroughs. We provide physical addresses only, and the rental is available for use with continuing education and professional development programs.

Mailing List Rental Procedures

1. Mail or fax a sample of the brochure/ flyer you want to send to the NASW membership, along with a written request stating what portion of the list you would like to rent, and a signed rental agreement (click here to download the PDF). Send to NASW-NYC, 50 Broadway, Suite 1001, New York, NY, 10004 or fax to (212) 668-0050. For any questions please email ads@naswnyc.org or call (212) 668-0050 ext. 235.

 

2. When the material is approved, you will be contacted. At that point, allow five business days for the list to get to the mail and print house. Renters of the mailing list do not get a copy of the list, it is sent directly to the printer and mailed out from there:  Century Direct located at 30-00 47th Avenue, Long Island City, NY 11101-3415.  All measures are taken in order to protect the confidentiality of the names on the list.

 

3. Once the list arrives at Century Direct, it is the responsibility of the renter of the list to coordinate the actual mailing and the cost of printing and postage and handling, paid to Century Direct (these fees are separate from the rental fee, which is paid to NASW-NYC). 4. All labels must be used. Regardless of the size of the list you choose to rent, you must send your mailing to everyone on the list. If you have any questions, call the Chapter office at (212) 668-0050 ext. 235.

Online Employment Listings

We provide free advertising for employment notices as follows:  In order to help our members identify job openings, NASW-NYC is now accepting employment notices from social work employers. If you know of job openings, please let us know and we will post them, for free.  Employment listings remain on the website for 60 days. Due to the high volume of ads we receive, we are not able to format any ads. We will link to a PDF of your print ready employment listing. If you have more than two ads to post, we ask that you put them into one PDF. Please email a PDF of your ad to ads@naswnyc.org.

Advertising Procedures and Payment Information

To submit your ad for Currents, an online classified or employment listing, or to inquire about renting our mailing list, please email ads@naswnyc.org. If you do not receive an email confirmation that your ad was received within one week, please call (212) 668-0050 ext. 235 to ensure publication. Please include all items listed below in the email  (do not include credit card information in an email):

  • First and last name
  • Company name
  • Complete billing address
  • Day-time phone number
  • Type of ad desired

Ads may be paid with a check or credit card (we accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express). An invoice will be mailed to the specified billing address and is to be paid upon receipt. If you wish to pay by credit card, please download and print out the credit card processing form by clicking here, and fax to (212) 668-0305. DO NOT INCLUDE CREDIT CARD INFORMATION IN ANY EMAILS.

 

Advertising Policies

Advertising Schedule: Any ad that is time sensitive in relation to the date of an event or a deadline should be placed in the newsletter or on the website early enough to ensure that NASW members will have time to respond. Consult the schedule to guide the timing of ad placement. All publication dates are subject to change. If you do not receive an email confirmation that your ad was received within one week please call (212) 668-0050 ext. 235.

 

NASW-NYC accepts advertising for: Professional development (please click here to read notice) meetings such as workshops, conferences, classes, and courses; employment; publication; office rentals; social work related products and services; situations wanted; organizational services; referrals to organizations and institutions; consultation (limited to licensed social workers - LMSW or LCSW) and study groups.

 

All advertising copy is subject to the publisher’s approval. NASW reserves the right to reject advertisements for any reason at any time. NASW is not liable if an advertisement is omitted for any reason. Publication of an advertisement does not constitute endorsement or approval of contents of a book, point of view, standards of service or opinions presented therein; nor does NASW guarantee the accuracy of information given.
