Disaster group continues to meet
(November/December 1997)

The Disaster Mental Health Project of NASW-NYC Chapter, developed to support social workers' interest and experience in disaster mental health work with the American Red Cross, welcomes new members to its next meeting, Friday, January 9, 1998, 9:30-11:30am, at the Chapter office. The project is scheduled to meet every two months, to continue discussion on issues related to disaster trauma and loss, and the impact of such work on ourselves. Future Friday morning meetings dates are March 13 and May 15. For more information, you may contact Madelyn Miller, CSW, ACSW, project chairperson, through the Chapter office, 212-668-0050.

NOTE: In last month's Currents, the article on disaster mental health training did not include the information that the training is for people who are able to make a commitment to volunteering locally or out of state. For more information call the Red Cross at 212-875-2322.
