NYS Attorney General Elliot Spitzer's Office
Finds Chapter's Managed Care Project Vital

The Managed Care Advisory Committee of the Chapter held a meeting with the Health Care Bureau of the NYS Attorney General's Office. The data collected by the NASW Critical Incident Report (CIR) Project is proving useful to the Health Care Bureau in trend analysis of New Yorkers' experiences with managed care. Such analysis can lead to investigations of specific managed care companies. In addition, the Chapter now has a direct link to the Health Care Bureau. Our collective voice must remain strong - the more CIR returns, the louder our voice.

It is crucial that members and health/mental health consumers:

  • Continue to return CIR report forms (request them from the Chapter 212/668-0050 ext. 200 or complete forms on the web at www.naswny.org)
  • Call the Attorney General's Health Care Bureau (800/771-7755) for help with specific managed care related difficulties that you or your patients experience.
