Collaboration Between NASW-NYC and the Puerto Rican Family Institute Raises $275,000

 

The Latino Social Work Task Force hosted its 7th Annual Scholarship Dinner on March 10th, raising scholarship money to ensure the continued support of Latino MSW students. To date, the Task Force has raised over $275,000. That evening, ten leaders were honored, including: Ms. Yolanda Alicea-Winn, Ms. Abigail Feliciano, Dr. Lucy Garcia, Dr. Virge Luce, Ms. Alicia Montero, Dr. Rose Perez, Dr. Rogerio Pinto, Dr. Anthony Sainz, Mr. Louis Salinas and Mr. Louis Vazquez. Also, Dr. Sheldon Gelman, who is stepping down as Dean of Yeshiva University’s Wurzweiler School of Social Work, was presented a Special Recognition Award for his leadership on the Task Force as one of its founding members.
