NASW-NYC SOCIAL WORK IMAGE AWARD NOMINATIONS
NASW-NYC is a membership association that effectively promotes the value and visibility of the social work profession. Through numerous program initiatives, the Chapter serves 9,200 social workers and remains actively committed to enhancing the professional development of its members, maintaining professional standards, and advancing sound social policies. Each year, through its “Social Work Image Award”, NASW-NYC seeks to identify and acknowledge the unique contributions of its members towards advancing the profession. The “Social Work Image Award” recognizes outstanding social work practice in administration and direct practice, and will be presented at the Chapter’s Annual Meeting, which will be held this year on May 12, 2011. NASW NYC invites you to join the Chapter leadership and members in nominating social workers who are making a difference in their agencies or communities, and to working with us to assure that the social work profession will be strong and vital, now and in the years ahead.
- Nominations are open to all social workers in NYC
- Must hold an MSW degree
- Demonstrated excellence in administration, community organizing, or direct practice
- A dedicated professional who has made a significant contribution or displayed a strong commitment to the field of social work, in any practice area or setting
- Social workers who have exhibited advanced knowledge, skills and leadership in providing effective and quality social work service delivery
We are seeking candidates who have made significant and unique contributions to the social work profession. To nominate someone for consideration, please write a statement of no more than 500 words describing what is outstanding about the candidate’s work. Demonstrate how the significant contributions, exemplary work and leadership qualities of the nominee reflect the selection criteria above. Please provide information about the person being recommended, including their name, agency name, address and telephone number. It is recommended that you submit a copy of the candidate’s resume/CV. An awards committee will identify up to 3 award recipients.
