- Award to be presented on Thursday, December 5, 2013 at Jing Fong Restaurant in Chinatown
- This is the largest celebration of social work leaders in New York City
We are soliciting nominations to honor outstanding New York City social workers at our Annual Leadership Awards Dinner, which is a wonderful, joyful gathering now in its seventh year.
We are seeking nominations for the following levels of leadership:
- Emerging Leaders (3-10 years in the field)
- Mid-career Leaders (Minimum of 10 years experience)
The need to cultivate emerging new leaders and support strong leadership among exemplary mid-career social workers has never been greater. We are experiencing a dramatic transition of leadership as a result of the retirement of many of human services executives, including social workers. Encouraging and recognizing social workers who are now emerging as the leaders of tomorrow is important to all of us.
In recent years NASW-NYC has honored 71 emerging leaders, 11 top leaders in the field, and 17 mid-career leaders. This has been inspiring.
With so many challenges facing service providers and their staff, it is refreshing to be able to do something good that requires only a few moments of time. This is a great opportunity to recognize an outstanding member of your staff, a co-worker, or a colleague!
All honorees will be recognized at our awards dinner to be held on Thursday, December 5, 2013, at the Jing Fong Restaurant in Chinatown. This will be a wonderful, exciting, and fun-filled evening.
We encourage you to share this information with your network and to submit a nomination.
Deadline for all submissions is Monday, September 30, 2013. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Alayne Rosales via email at Rosales@naswnyc.org or at 212.668.0050, extension #229.
We hope you will be able to join us on this special evening honoring our profession's outstanding social workers in NYC.
