Social Work Administrators Moving Up:
Skills and Knowledge to Move into

Organizational Leadership Positions,

Including CEO

The social work profession needs more social workers to assume leadership within human service organizations.  The number of non-social work executive directors and CEOs has climbed rapidly while the number of MSW level social workers in these positions has declined.

NASW-NYC is committed to encouraging and supporting social workers in administration to aim high, and these workshops have been designed to help equip administrators in this important mission.

These workshops are for experienced administrators who could position themselves to assume top leadership and for social workers who are thinking longer term.

One of these workshops is specifically on how administrators can bring a racial equity lens into the organizational systems, by leaders who have done the work in one of the largest agencies in the City.
