We are pleased to announce the first year of the Latino Social Work Task Force Scholarship Program. This program provides scholarships to Latino men and women with significant financial need residing in the New York metropolitan area that have been accepted or are enrolled in a Master’s level program at one of the following accredited schools of social work:

  • Adelphi University School of Social Work
  • Columbia University School of Social Work
  • Fordham University Graduate School of Social Service
  • Hunter College School of Social Work
  • New York University School of Social Work
  • Yeshiva University Wurzweiler School of Social Work

The Latino Social Work Task Force has been working in collaboration with the National Association of Social Workers, NYC Chapter (NASW-NYC) and the Puerto Rican Family Institute, Inc., (PRFI) on the development of this scholarship program to increase the number of Latino social workers needed to better serve the increased demand for linguistically and culturally sensitive services to the Latino community.

The program is administered by the National Association of Social Workers-NYC Chapter and the Puerto Rican Family Institute, Inc., in accordance with the attached guidelines. Latino individuals can apply for scholarships of up to $5,000, of which $2,500 is paid by the Task Force and the other $2,500 is matched by each participating school.
