Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is an evidence-based therapeutic approach that focuses on teaching coping skills to target psychological problems, which can be applied across many diagnostic categories and treatment populations.

Attendees will learn the principles and practice of CBT and gain knowledge of the approach as a framework for treating a variety of mental health concerns. The workshop will also review a diversity of current approaches within the CBT paradigm, including REBT, ACT, Schema and Trail-Based Cognitive models, which will provide attendees with an understanding of cross-cutting techniques across all sub-groups while noting the differences.

In addition to the theoretical context of the model, attendees will gain practical skills they can use in their clinical settings.

With this workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the theoretical framework of CBT
  • Conceptualize a case with a CBT perspective
  • Learn cognitive, behavioral, mindfulness, sensory and mind-body skills within the CBT framework
