| The NASW-NYS/NYC Policy Series |
|
The 2025 NASW-NYC/NYS Policy Series is a dynamic, multi-part program designed to inform and equip New York social workers with critical policy resources and practical tools for advocacy. Covering key issues such as salaries, student loan forgiveness, mental health in schools, and other profession-specific concerns, the series provides social workers across the state with a platform to stay informed and take action.
More than just a learning opportunity, the series is a call to advocacy—empowering social workers to engage directly in shaping policies that impact their careers, clients, and communities. Participants will gain access to valuable resources, connect with peers and policy leaders, and become part of a statewide movement to elevate the profession through sustained advocacy and legislative engagement.
The series also highlights member-driven advocacy opportunities within the Chapter, including the Advocacy & Government Relations (AGR) Committee—which helps shape the annual chapter legislative agenda—and the PACE (Political Action for Candidate Election) Committee, the chapter's political arm that endorses and supports candidates aligned with chapter policy goals.
