NASW-NYC is seeking high-quality, professional, and diverse workshops for our continuing education program. NASW-NYC is a New York State Education Department approved continuing education provider for licensed social workers and a New York State Board for Mental Health Practitioners approved continuing education provider for Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists.

 

NASW-NYC’s continuing education workshops are typically 3 or 6-hours long, held on weeknights or weekends, and will compensate workshops $100 per hour. We offer both in-person and online webinar courses, and while we will accept any workshops in one of the topics outlined in the “Presenter Guidelines” below, we are currently interested in workshops related to:

 

  • Leadership and organization management
  • Policy and advocacy
  • Human rights and social justice
    • Addressing diversity, intersectionality, multiculturalism, and oppression

 

 

If you are an expert in your field and are interested in working with us, please submit a workshop proposal below!

 

 

 

 

 

In order to conduct a workshop, presenters must be a Licensed Master Social Worker and must have credentials that indicate they are qualified to be a presenter in the topic of their workshop. If the workshop topic is clinical-related, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker must be the workshop presenter.

 

Presenters may choose to present in one of the following social work-related topics:

 

  • Theories and concepts of human behavior in the social environment
  • Social work practice, knowledge and skills
  • Social work research, programs, or practice evaluations
  • Social work management, administration or social policy
  • Social work ethics
  • Clinical interventions, evidence-based models, and principles of clinical social work practice, psychotherapy, and clinical social work diagnosis
  • Client communications and record-keeping
  • Administrative supervision of licensed master social work and clinical supervision of licensed clinical social work practice
  • Pedagogical methodologies or other topics which contribute to the professional practice of licensed master social work and licensed clinical social work
  • Cross-disciplinary offerings from medicine, law, administration, education and the behavioral sciences – if they are clearly related to the enhancement of social work practice, skills and knowledge, and the health, safety, and/or welfare of the public

 

 

LMFT presenters may choose to present in one of the following LMFT-related topics:

 

Clinical interventions and evidence-based practice and cross-disciplinary offerings from medicine, law, administration, education, behavioral and social sciences related to marriage and family therapy practice, patient communications, record-keeping, and matters related to law and/or ethics which contribute to professional practice in marriage and family therapy and the health, safety, and/or welfare of the public.

Presenters submitting a proposal should prepare the following materials prior to their submission:

 

 

  • Updated CV/resume
  • Workshop title (4-8 words)
  • Workshop description
  • Workshop hours - how long will your workshop be?
  • 3-5 Education objectives - what will the attendees learn at the end of the workshop?
  • Short presenter biography (50-100 words)
