NASW-NYC is seeking high-quality, professional, and diverse workshops for our continuing education program. NASW-NYC is a New York State Education Department approved continuing education provider for licensed social workers and a New York State Board for Mental Health Practitioners approved continuing education provider for Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists.

NASW-NYC’s continuing education workshops are typically 3 or 6-hours long and will compensate workshops $100 per hour. We offer both in-person and online webinar courses.

Following the NASW-NYC Chapter's priorities, we highly encourage and prioritize presentations that include a race, diversity, oppression and intersectionality lens as it relates to their topic area. Potential presenters are asked to consider whether their topics will be of limited interest to a narrow portion of the profession or whether it can be generalized and expanded to be of interest beyond a small area.

If you are an expert in your field and are interested in working with us, please submit a workshop proposal below!

In order to conduct a workshop, presenters must be a Licensed Master Social Worker and must have credentials that indicate they are qualified to be a presenter in the topic of their workshop. If the workshop topic is clinical-related, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker must be one of the workshop presenters.

  • Theories and concepts of human behavior in the social environment
  • Social work practice, knowledge and skills

  • Administrative supervision of licensed master social work and clinical supervision of licensed clinical social work practice
  • Pedagogical methodologies or other topics which contribute to the professional practice of licensed master social work and licensed clinical social work
  • Cross-disciplinary offerings from medicine, law, administration, education and the behavioral sciences – if they are clearly related to the enhancement of social work practice, skills and knowledge, and the health, safety, and/or welfare of the public

Clinical interventions and evidence-based practice and cross-disciplinary offerings from medicine, law, administration, education, behavioral and social sciences related to marriage and family therapy practice, patient communications, record-keeping, and matters related to law and/or ethics which contribute to professional practice in marriage and family therapy and the health, safety, and/or welfare of the public.
