Community Organizing and Advocacy for Clinicians: Enhancing Skills and Strategies to Build Power and Influence Change 

 

This educational activity provides social workers who are primarily clinicians or who work at the micro level with macro strategies and skills to enhance their ability to influence change at the community, system and policy levels. The focus will be on linking micro and macro practice.

 

This workshop will focus on Community outreach and engagement, gaining and utilizing power-- both informal and formal. Participants will also learn how to mobilize their constituency around collective actions. The workshop present coalition-building and collaboration strategies. The session will conclude with an exercise on organizing a campaign. Resources will be identified for bringing the message back to the participants’ agency and/or community.

All refunds are subject to a $20.00 administrative processing fee. Credit cannot be issued toward a future program date or substituted for another workshop. Refund requests typically require 1-2 weeks processing time.
