THIS WORKSHOP IS NOW CLOSED - ONSITE REGISTRATION IS STILL AVAILABLE

Positive Psychology is am impactful, evidence-based, empirically tested psychotherapeutic approach which studies positive experiences, positive character strengths, positive relationships and the social context settings which support these qualities.
The specific characteristics of people with positive sensibilities will be identified, along with the strategies for cultivating and experiencing authentic happiness and other positive emotional states. This course will examine the theoretical basis behind the positive psychology movement, the extensive research in support of the model, and the many applications of positive psychology to everyday life.
Attendees in this course should come to understand how to live life purposely and create more meaningful lives for themselves and their clients with direct strategies from the positive psychology approach.
Current positive psychology has evolved from its narrow focus on positive emotions and traits to positive psychology 2.0 which focuses on the totality of the person and the positive potentials in both positive and negative conditions.
With this workshop, participants will be able to:
- Identify the main theoretical principals of positive psychology
- Understand ways to apply positive psychology interventions to enhance happiness, resilience, and meaning, etc.
- Explore how to apply positive interventions in a professional setting of their choosing (social work practice, coaching, education, healthcare, etc.)
- Understand when positive psychology strategies are helpful, and how to integrate this perspective with other common evidence-based approaches such as CBT/DBT and Psychodynamic approaches.
