Hello all,
As we move out of Pride month and into July, there are a range of feelings among the SOGIE community - sadness that it is no longer our month, relief to be out of the spotlight, mourning the loss of streets decked with rainbows, grateful to not be bombarded by rainbows, counting down the days until June 2020, etc. Perhaps you had a totally joyful Pride, perhaps you were surrounded by your exes, perhaps Pride isn't your thing at all! Whatever the case may be, the SOGIE Collective hopes you will join us for our Pride Hangover Picnic.
On Wednesday, July 24th from 6:00-8:00pm, we will be getting together in Washington Square Park for one final (very chill) Pride celebration. Perfect for those still recovering from participating in the mayhem, those introverts who are horrified by Pride crowds, and everyone in between.
This will be potluck and BYOB style, so bring a snack, plate, or beverage to share with the group.
All are welcome - friends, allies, partners, lovers, family members, etc. As long as they are willing to hold varying feelings surrounding Pride (i.e. corporatization, excitement and love, gender and racial inequality, "best day of my year," etc.)
As we host our second "Hangover" event (following this year's Holiday Hangover party), we are excited to make this part of our brand - holding space to process the aftermath of these often charged celebrations.
WE WILL MEET RAIN OR SHINE! Check out the flyer below for our rain plan location, and please RSVP so we can get a headcount.
We hope to see you all there!
