"What Happens to a Dream Deferred? Identity Formation and DACA"
Presenters:
Jessica Rosenberg, PhD, LCSW and Marlon Agustin-Mendez, MSW
Jessica Rosenberg, PhD, LCSW and Marlon Agustin-Mendez, MSW, are presenting at the next meeting of the Disaster Trauma Committee on Friday, January 17, 9 to 11 am, at the chapter office. They will share findings from an original qualitative research study entitled, “What Happens to a Dream Deferred? Identity Formation and DACA.” Using narrative inquiry, the study explores the lived experience of seven Latinx DACA recipients and gives voice to their hopes, dreams, and the challenges these young adults face. It examines the impact of the present administration's immigration policies on their life aspirations. An article based on the study is currently being readied for submission for publication. Please join the conversation with colleagues. Please RSVP to mgmiller96@aol.com.
