Research in Neuroscience over the past several decades has resulted in an emerging framework of brain-based health strategies which can promote well-being, self-regulation, and mind-body integration. Concepts such as neuroplasticity help us explain that brain change is possible over the human lifespan.
This framework can bring a new dimension to psychotherapy treatment. This workshop will explore a range of strategies: top-down, bottom-up and horizontal methods that can be creatively individualized for each client to treat mood disorders and provide a framework for a holistic whole-brain wellness lifestyle.
With this workshop, participants will be able to:
-
Learn how to provide effective psychoeducation to clients on the neuroscience framework and the concept of neuroplasticity.
- Formulate treatment plans on Brain-Based Therapy domains: Top Down, Bottom Up, and Horizontal Approaches.
- Learn how to individualize brain-based interventions based on Mindfulness, Cognitive Therapy, Attachment, and Somatic and Expressive Arts interventions.
