Hello dear colleagues-
I hope you can join the next meeting of the Disaster Trauma Committee, next Friday, May 21, 9 to 11 am, via zoom (zoom invitation below). As you know from the last meeting announcement, I will soon be stepping back from my role as chairperson of the committee. The May 21 and June 18 meetings will be the last two meetings I will chair.
At this meeting we’ll recognize those lost to the violence and hate crimes of systemic racism, in historical context, those lost to COVID, and to the relentless humanitarian crises unfolding before our eyes. We’ll acknowledge anniversaries of collective trauma and loss affecting our local and broader community, and will then consider historical trauma and its relation to racial trauma, cultural trauma, and transgenerational trauma.
I look forward to seeing you as we also recognize the evolution of the committee across the years and our close engagements with each other. Thank you for please sending an RSVP to mgmiller96@aol.com.
