This workshop is for the “coaching curious” social worker. Many therapists are talking about coaching lately. Not only is it a booming industry but coaching is one of the fastest ways to improve client-centered care.

Are you interested in coaching but want to do it ethically? Are you ready to expand your skills and keep up with current trends to meet client needs? A foundation of being a good coach is being able to embody a coaching mindset. This workshop will teach you how to cultivate a coaching mindset by teaching you exactly what coaching is, how it is different from therapy, and how to bridge coaching and social work.     

With this workshop, participants will be able to:

• Define and differentiate between therapy and coaching
• Define and differentiate a coaching mindset from other helping professional mindsets
• Explore and identify their own mindset as a social worker
• Explore and begin to shape their own mindset as a coach as the groundwork to incorporate coaching into their social work practice
• Begin to explore bridging coaching and social work

Dr. Liz Lasky, PhD, LCSW, ACC is a social worker and certified coach. She is an expert at teaching helping professionals how to coach in an ethical and evidence-based way.  She is the founder and lead educator of The Coach Training Program for Helping Professionals™ and believes that coaching is the fastest way to improve client-centered care. 

Dr. Lasky is a published author, a professional expert for Bravo TV, and presents her academic research on coaching, most notably at Harvard University. She is a proud Fellow of The Institute of Coaching at McLean Hospital, Harvard University.

NASW-NYC Certificates Policy

As per New York State Continuing Education guidelines, attendees must arrive on time and attend the ENTIRE workshop to receive their Continuing Education Contact Hours. Any attendees who arrive late or leaves early to a workshop will not receive their certificate, is not allowed admittance into the workshop and is also not eligible for a refund in any way. 

Please ensure that your registration information is accurate as this may impact your continuing education certificates.  NASW-NYC is not responsible for the accuracy of your registration information. To receive your certificate of completion, you must be present for the entire webinar and complete an evaluation.

NASW-NYC Refund Policy

All refund requests must be submitted by e-mail to accounting.naswnyc@socialworkers.org. Refund e-mails must include the subject line "Refund Request" as well as the attendee's name, workshop date and title in the body of the e-mail. Valid requests must be received no later than three business days prior to course date. NASW-NYC reserves the right to refuse any refunds requested later than three days prior to the course date.

• All refunds are subject to a 30% administrative processing fee.
• Refund requests typically require 1-2 weeks processing time.
• Refunds ONLY; credit cannot be issued toward a future program date or substituted for another workshop.

If the workshop is cancelled, you will be informed ahead of time and fully refunded.
