During this two-hour workshop, participants will mix theory with practice through the understanding of the concepts of effective evaluation and design their own program/service analysis. For the first half of the workshop, participants will be exposed to the fundamentals, best practices, and examples of culturally responsive evaluation through lecture and participatory discussion. The second half will be dedicated to a hands-on approach to evaluation, where participants will be able to use templates and assistance to evaluate a program (either their own or through a model) and present to their peers for feedback.

Participants will leave this workshop with a tangible tool to share with their programs on their impact and action plans for further evaluation. Participants will also learn and apply principles of equitable evaluations to take a more complex and objective approach to program evaluation.

With this workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Define and understand the differences between outcomes, goals, objectives.
  • Develop objectives units of measurement and indicators of success.
  • Apply concepts learned and use data to analyze at least one aspect of their program.
  • Be exposed to and be able to apply the principles of culturally responsive evaluation.
