Topic:
Brain Spotting & Trauma
Speaker:
Deborah Antinor
In this workshop Deborah Antinori will explore factors that shape anticipatory pet loss. She will outline current brain literature, particularly Brainspotting Therapy. This is a neurobiological “dual attunement approach” where the therapist is exquisitely attuned to the client’s experience while simultaneously identifying the eye gaze that resonates with the emotional and somatic distress the client identifies. She will offer experiential exercises to show how to approach distressing emotions, visual images, and other somatic discomforts in an effective, safe and respectful manner. Question, answer and discussion period will follow.
Bio:
Deborah Antinori has been a therapist in private practice for twenty-three years. She presents nationally on the subject of pet loss and is the author/narrator of the award-winning audiobook, Journey Through Pet Loss. She holds her Masters from the Drama Therapy Program at NYU and is a Licensed Professional Counselor, Fellow in Thanatology, and Certified Brainspotting Therapist.
