We have received some phone calls regarding how to get to the protest site and purchasing metro tickets/ using the DC Metro. At this time, there is still some degree of uncertainty of what transportation to and from the protest site would look like. Our buses will drop us off at RFK stadium and we will have to get to the protest site by public transportation. Our Bus Captains will assist in facilitating that the group gets to the protest site. It is possible that DC transit officials may allow free access to the trains or provide shuttle buses however we do not know for sure. As social workers, we ask that you remain patient and meet us and situation where it is at.
In the next two days we are also asking for all registrants to provide the following by sending a return email to this address:
1. Please provide us with a cell phone number that we can use to contact you in case of an emergency.
2. Please provide us with a person we can contact on your behalf in case of an arrest or any other emergencies while on the trip.
Remember that Pick-up will take place at the NYC Chapter Office: 50 Broadway New York, NY 10004. The Bus will depart at 6:00AM Sharp.
Check In / Registration will begin at 5:30AM. Please arrive at least 30 minutes prior to departure to check in, pick up an information packet and sign/submit a liability waiver. Please plan for subway work and changes so that you are not delayed.
We ask that while posting on social media during the march that you use our hashtag #socialworkinthecity so that we can share the experience alongside you. We will have signs available for the march but encourage to make and bring your own signs.
