Meet the Chairs of the Psychotherapy & Wellness Practitioners Group

 

 

 

 

   Anjail Ameen-Rice, LCSW,  received her Masters Degree in Social Work from New York University and Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from St. Joseph’s College in Brooklyn, New York. She is a New York State Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and holds a New York State Department of Education School Social Work Certificate.Her clinical experience includes several areas of behavioral health, including behavior intervention counseling, couples counseling, family therapy, youth and adolescent psychotherapy, cognitive behavior therapy and alcohol and substance abuse counseling. In addition, she has many years of experience in the supervision of Licensed Masters degree Social Workers and Mental Health Counselors. She has worked as a part-time adjunct professor in the Social Work Department at the College of Staten Island. Anjail enjoys working with individuals, couples, and families and looks forward to helping them develop an awareness of how to overcome their struggles. She provides a client-centered approach aimed at helping an individual feel supported and validated. 

 

 

 Erica, P. Sandoval, LCSW is a licensed clinical therapist who is dedicated to promoting diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI). Partnering with various organizations, health care facilities, medical and corporate professionals to provide access to resources to advance teams and help employees thrive, she most-recently co-founded Employee Network Allyance. Erica holds a Post Master’s in Clinical Adolescent Psychology and a Masters in Social Work from New York University, Silver School of Social Work. She currently serves as Board President of the National Association of Social Workers NYC, the largest organization for professional social workers worldwide. She supported the creation of the NASW-NYC B.O.L.D (Building Organizing and Leading with Diversity) Committee. Her work focuses on the intersectionality of behavioral health, criminal legal, social disparities, trauma, and human development. She serves as an Advisor for Latino Social Work Coalition and an Advisor for Prospanica NY. She is releasing her first book, Latinx in Social Work in the Fall of 2021.

 

 

  Tania Vargas, LCSW is an LCSW in the states of New York and New Jersey. Tania recently started her own private practice in January 2021. Along with owning her own private practice, and being a supervisor of an IMT team, Tania is a photographer and consultant. Tania has been on the NASW board of directors since 2017, and is a co-chair for the Recruitment & Retention committee and the Psychotherapy & Wellness group.
